The apps report is the answer to the question behind most monitoring purchases: not "were they at the desk" but "what did the time become". TimeNova times every app and site automatically and lets your company, not us, decide what counts as productive.

What it does

• Per-second app timing. The frontmost app and page are sampled continuously, and each interval is credited honestly, split into active and idle rather than labelled wholesale.
• Websites without the noise. Pages collapse to meaningful records rather than a thousand one-second URL variants, query strings are stripped before storage so tokens and searches never persist, and new-tab pages are never dressed up as websites.
• Your ratings, not our judgment. Rate an app or platform productive, neutral or unproductive at company level, per group, or per person. Distraction-shaming defaults to off; the customer decides what their work looks like.
• Media time named honestly. A video playing in the front window counts as tracked time in its own lane, so training videos are not "away", and your ratings decide what the site was worth.
• No keylogging, structurally. TimeNova never requests input-monitoring permissions on macOS. What was typed is not collected anywhere, so it cannot leak from anywhere.

From report to decision

Usage rolls up per person, per team and per range, feeds the activity level on every other report, and exports to CSV. Software-budget questions ("who actually uses the licence we pay for") get answered from the same data. Start from time tracking to see the day these numbers come from.
