How TimeNova counts time.

Every report in TimeNova is built from one set of rules, so two pages can never disagree about the same minute. These are the rules.

Active and idle

Activity comes from how recently the person gave any input, measured per second, never from logging what they type. Short quiet stretches, reading, thinking, stay inside worked time and are reported honestly as idle. Past the person's own idle limit (set per person in Settings), the clock stops and capture pauses: a forgotten tracker cannot bill an afternoon.

Meetings always count

A person in a call with their hands off the keyboard is working, and TimeNova classifies a real call above idle every time. Quiet minutes inside a call are reported as "quiet, in a call", never as slacking.

Media in front counts

A video actually playing in the front window, a training session, a tutorial, counts as tracked time in its own lane, and your company's app ratings decide whether that site is productive. Background music does not trigger this.

Breaks are breaks

Company breaks taken in the desktop app show as their own grey blocks on the timeline, never confused with being away or offline.

Manual time stays separate

Where the company allows it, time added by hand always appears in its own column, never silently merged into tracked time. Tracked means observed; the two words keep their meanings.
