Projects, tasks and budgets.
Projects turn the same tracked seconds into per-client and per-job answers. Nothing is counted twice: project hours are a subset of tracked hours by construction.
Create projects
Settings, Projects. Give each project tasks, an optional bill rate, an optional budget in hours or money, and choose who can log time to it. Projects are archived, never deleted, so history survives reorganisation.
Attribute time
In the desktop app, the person picks the project and task, and every tracked second lands there as they work. Switching tasks mid-morning re-attributes from that moment, never backwards. If your company requires it, the app asks for a pick before the clock starts. Time tracked with no pick is reported honestly as unattributed, never spread around.
Read the report
Reports, Project time & cost: hours per project with a per-task breakdown, billable value at the project's rate, cost at each person's own rate, and margin when both halves are complete. Budgets burn over the project's whole life, not the range on screen, and a budget that cannot be computed says why instead of showing a number.
